ABOUT US
Computational & Quantitative Social Science at Cornell (CQSS) is a registered student organization at Cornell University that focuses on the application of mathematical, statistical, and computational methods to problems in the social sciences.
The fundamental goals of CQSS are to:
- Develop software, systems, and models which can support research in the social sciences.
- Answer questions in the local and global communities through the application of quantitative techniques.
- Promote a computational and quantitative approach to the social sciences through the production and publication of research work, and through engagement with relevant organizations in the private and public sectors.
Throughout the academic year, CQSS works on an interdisciplinary project of interest at the intersection of the mathematical and social sciences. At biweekly meetings, members gather to share and discuss new findings, and to update their colleagues on progress made towards the realization of ongoing projects.
